Current situation
Shadow Moses Air Field is an aging military installation on a remote island in the Fox Archipelago, immediately south of the western Alaska Peninsula, that is being returned to full operational use. Several facilities and mission systems must be repaired, renovated, or reactivated at the same time. You are the contracting team from the 713th Contracting Squadron (713 CONS), responsible for helping the installation turn those needs into lawful, workable acquisitions and for administering the resulting contracts.
The entire exercise takes place during fiscal year 2027 (FY27). Dates on the timeline and in the handouts are part of the scenario record and should be considered when you evaluate funding, notice, schedule, and administration questions.
You will receive several requirements and inherited actions over the course of the exercise. They may appear separate, but some share facilities, work areas, schedules, personnel, or operational dependencies. For each situation, identify the issue, decide what you know, ask for the facts you still need, and explain why your proposed action is better than the available alternatives.
